Opossum Shrimp

This is a simple pattern. It is made from spun opossum for the body.

A bit of red yarn and mallard/teal. The eyes are melted mono. Hook is Partridge CS54 sea hook. I think this will do a great job as food for sea trout.

  1. That’s a lovely looking pattern may have to borrow it for a trip to Western Scotland in April! Tagging a lone with a good friend but he recommends a Muddler fished on an intermediate?

    • Yeah, I relly like the simplicity of it. Many shrimp patterns are just to realistic. Besides most people tie their shrimps way too long. I’m working on a few variations of this one.
Let me know if this works in Scotland:)

  2. Brilliant thanks for the tips! I agree it’s always good to keep things simple and imitative. Ive been looking back through you old posts and seen a few other great looking patterns I may try to. Fingers crossed we find some trout to test them with!
